• Place ads. Ads are the easiest (but not necessarily the most profitable) way to make money from your blog. CPM ads and CPC ads are the two most popular types of ads. CPM ads pay a fixed amount per 1,000 visitors and they are suitable for a blog with a lot of traffic. If your blog is still not a high-traffic one, CPC (also known as Pay Per Click) ads, such as Adsense, could be more feasible, especially if your blog is in a profitable niche. Of course, you can run both CPM and CPC ads and see which one works best for you.
• Sell stuff. Putting up ads is the easiest way to make money from your blog, as it doesn’t require much work from your part, but if you sell stuff – your own products or if you become an affiliate – this can make you even more money. CPA, or affiliate marketing is currently the most profitable way to monetize a blog but it also requires more time and effort. Still, if you know what you are doing and you manage to pick top selling products, it is possible to make hundreds of dollars a month from a small blog alone. So basically, an E-Commerce blog might be worth thinking about.
• Promote yourself. If you are a designer, programmer, musician, writer, lawyer, accountant, architect or any other kind expert who can make money as a freelancer, your blog could be easily turned into your portfolio site. Actually, many blogs have been created with exactly this purpose – to promote the owner and to act as his or her agent. However, if your blog is far from top-notch, this isn't doing you a favor and in fact will hurt your efforts to get new gigs.
The possibilities to earn money from your blog are endless and the three mentioned above are just the easy ones. Start with these and if you notice that you can make money from your blog, you can go on to new ventures. Since many bloggers are making fat income from blogging, anyone with brains, a sharp pen and some stamina can probably do the same.
